Funding
The scholarship programs of the Michael D. Penner Institute on ESG Issues Scholarship Program and the Scotiabank Observatory on Sustainable Development Innovations aim to support multidisciplinary research on environmental issues (decarbonization, pollution, biodiversity, etc.), social issues (fair transition, AI, working conditions, human rights, reconciliation with Indigenous communities, EDI, etc.) and governance (corruption, money laundering, mission-driven companies, etc.).
The Michael D. Penner Institute Scholarships on ESG Issues and the Scotiabank Observatory on Sustainable Development Innovations are awarded based on an inclusive approach to excellence. Academic institutions or research supervisors are encouraged to supplement the amounts offered by these scholarships in order to provide scholarship recipients with full financial support in line with that offered by funding agencies.
